The story so far
The long and winding road....
BPM started in 2008 with Buzz and John joining forces to spread their enthusiasm for all things world music. Since then, BPM has delivered a variety of regular events across Blackpool which have included Fusion Friday, the town's premier world music night; Almost Jamaica, a real Carribean and reggae experience; Blackpool Balkanism, a night of east European grooves; Raise the Galleon, a heritage world jazz night.
Past projects have included supporting IYPR, a young people's internet based radio project; Tidal Beats, African community drum circle initiative; Bollywood Dance Project, Indian dance classes and celebration event run in association with a variety of local partners. We have also supported other creative activities such as Haunted Blackpool, an installation as part of Blackpool's world famous Illuminations; and Word Up, a European funded creative word project led by young people.
In addition, BPM has provided a diverse range of educational and community based activities and has been involved with the Musicport, Exodus and Beatherder music festivals.
